Dario Cologna wins the 42th Engadin Skimarathon. Second came Daniel Tynell (SWE) before Christophe Perrillat (FRA).

Susanne Nyström (SWE) wins the womens race in 1:43.02. The Swiss skiers Seraina Mischol und Selina Gasparin came second and third.

When is the deadline for the registration?

Engadin Skimarathon / Half Marathon: Entries are possible until the day before the race, Saturday, 12 March 2011, 5 pm. From Thursday, 10 March 2011 entries are only possible at the starting number office in St. Moritz-Bad, Health spa centre. Online registrations are possible until Friday, 11 March 2011. As soon as the starting fee is on our account, you are registered for the race.

Frauenlauf: Entries are possible until the day before the race, Saturday, 5 March 2011, 6 pm. On Saturday, 5 March 2011 entries are only possible at the starting number office in Samedan. Online registrations are possible until Friday, 4 March 2011. As soon as the starting fee is on our account, you are registered for the race.

 

How much is the entry fee?

Engadin Skimarathon / Half Marathon: The amount of the starting fee depends on the time of payment/registration:

  42.2 km 21 km
before 31 Dec. 2010: CHF 100.– / EUR 67.– CHF 75.– / EUR 50.–
from 1 January 2011: CHF 120.– / EUR 80.– CHF 95.– / EUR 63.–
from 1 February 2011: CHF 140.– / EUR 94.– CHF 115.– / EUR 76.–
from 1 March 2011: CHF 160.– / EUR 105.– CHF 135.– / EUR 90.–

Payments received until the defined cut-off days (31 December 2010 / 31 January / 28 February 2011) are in due time. For payments received by the organiser after the cut-off day an additional fee is charged when the starting number is collected.

Frauenlauf: The amount of the starting fee depends on the time of payment/registration:

before 15 February 2011: CHF 60.– / EUR 40.–
from 16 February 2011: CHF 80.– / EUR 54.–

Payments received until the defined cut-off day (15 February 2011) are in due time. For payments received by the organiser after the cut-off day an additional fee is charged when the starting number is collected.

 

How can I pay the entry fee?

Online registration: Participants can very easily and quickly register online at www.engadin-skimarathon.ch. All online entries are confirmed by e-mail. An entry is valid only when full payment has been received.

Orange payment slip: (Switzerland only) As a former participant, who has received the documentation by mail, please use the pre-printed payment slip (orange) to ensure that payment is processed quickly and smoothly. Credits from the previous year can be subtracted from the starting fee. Important: Each participant must complete a separate form!

Bank transfer: Please quote the following on all bank transfers (imperative):
Former participants: Your reference number (see personal reply card)
New entries: Name, address and complete date of birth

Is there any possibility to get a bib for another starting wave?

You can request a better starting category by filling in an application form:

Engadin Skimarathon / Half Marathon (until 8 March 2011)

Frauenlauf (until 2 March 2011)

A Competitor whose starting position is changed after it has been automatically issued will be charged an administrative fee of CHF 40.--. If you intend to register now but would like to present your results after races performed later in the season, please let us know by e-mail, phone or fax.

 

How can I reach the Engadin valley?

The train is the best means of transport. The starting fee includes a second class return ticket from a Rhaetian railway station to St. Moritz, valid on all Rhaetian railway routes. The offer is valid from 19 February to 20 March 2011 and the journey there must be made by 6 March 2011 (Frauenlauf) / 13 March 2011 (Engadin Skimarathon / Half Marathon). The travel voucher is only valid on presentation of a starting number or a voucher for a starting number. For entries received after 28 February 2011 (Frauenlauf) / 6 March 2011 (Engadin Skimarathon / Half Marathon), there is no guarantee that the train ticket can be sent on time.

Where can I sleep?

We recommend our partner hotels. The Engadin Skimarathon secretariat can arrange inexpensive dormitories in civil defence centres and school buildings (tel. +41 (0) 81 850 55 55). Payment for this accommodation must be made by mid-February 2011 at the latest. A refund is not possible. Reservations are possible from October 2010

Can another person collect my bib?

Yes. With your personal starting number voucher any other person can collect your bib. If the person collecting your bib doesn’t have your starting number voucher a special form has to be filled in at the race office.

 

How can I get to the start area?

Marathon / Half Marathon: We ask competitors and spectators to use the public transport available. Car parks will only be available in exceptional cases. There are shuttle busses from St. Moritz and Sils to the start area.

Frauenlauf: There are shuttle busses to the start area from 08 am. The start area is also within walking distance from the railway station (15 minutes).

Are there any food stations during along the course?
Can I quit the race in Pontresina, if I don’t want to continue?

Competitors who have registered for 42.2 km are allowed to finish the race after 21 km in Pontresina. They will be officially ranked in the half marathon. Participants who have registered for 21 km must finish the race in Pontresina. Otherwise they will be ranked neither for 21 km nor for 42.2 km.

Marathon participants who abandon the race after Pontresina will be listed in the results as finishers of the half marathon distance. However, this will be a separate list from the official ranking list of the half marathon.

 

Are there any time limits?

Closing time Engadin Skimarathon: 4pm
Closing time Half Marthon: 2pm
Closing time Frauenlauf: 1pm

 

Is there any refund of the entry fee, if a person is prevented for any reason?

With online registration:
Participants who register online have the possibility to contract insurance for the starting fee. All refunds are made by the insurance company directly. The Engadin Skimarathon doesn’t deal with refunds or credits.


With registration via bank transfer:
CHF 70.– (42.2 km) / CHF 45.– (21 km) / CHF 40. – (Frauenlauf) will be returned to any competitor cancelling by 1 February 2011 (please send in a personal payment slip).

If you fall ill or have an accident after 1 February 2011, please send a medical certificate and your starting number voucher by 31 March 2011 to the secretariat of the Engadin Skimarathon. You will then be credited CHF 70.– (42.2 km) / CHF 45.– (21 km) / CHF 40. – (Frauenlauf) for the next race.

Transfer entry:
Competitors who are unable to take part in the Engadin Skimarathon / Half Marathon / Frauenlauf may transfer their entry to a person of their choice, provided that replacement numbers are available. The difference of the previously paid starting fee to CHF 160.– (42.2 km) / CHF 135.– (21 km) / CHF 80. – (Frauenlauf) has to be paid in addition.

Where can I party after the race?

The Marathon Party is taking place directly in the finish area in S-chanf. Participants, supporters, guests and volunteers have the possibility to recharge their batteries at the Barilla Pasta-Party, to celebrate and to warm-up.
