1st ST. MORITZ SUPERSPRINT – Sprint-action on 100 meters

As part of the marathon week and as a replacement for the night sprint, St. Moritz is organising the 1st ST. MORITZ SUPERSPRINT together with the Engadin Skimarathon.
Who is the fastest sprinter of the marathon week? A question which will be answered on Friday evening, when up to 200 cross-country skiers will tackle the 100 metres between the Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains and the Ovaverva indoor pool in St. Moritz Bad. Admitted are hobby racers and elite athletes who try to qualify for the KO round in the prologue. There they meet the world's best sprinters to compete in the KO-system. The illuminated 100-metre course ends in a covered finish area with spectator stands, bar and music. The new, attractive format is thus extremely well suited to the spectators, who have free access to the area. The qualifying runs start at 4 pm, the final runs at 6 pm. Attractive prize money awaits the winners.

Format | Prologue for everyone, the best 32 men and 14 women qualify for the KO round. The best 26 men and 12 women according to FIS sprint points are seeded. 6 young athletes qualify from the Youth Sprint on Wednesday 2 March 2022 in Samedan. (2 U12, 2 U14 und 2 U16) KO system: woman against woman (32 tableau), man against man (64 tableau) |
Eligibility | Hobby racers to elite athletes. The number of participants for the prologue is limited to 200 athletes. |
Minimum age | From 2007 onwards, one category |
Starting bib distribution | From 3:00 pm at the 100m start, we ask all athletes to arrive 15 minutes before the respective slot at the starting area |
Registration | Until March 11th 2022 at 12:00 at noon, 2:30 to 3:30 pm directly at the start. |
Entry fee | Until March 11th 2022 at noon free of charge, on site CHF 5.-, provided that there are free places available |
Prize Money | Winner: CHF 4'000.- |
