Engadin Skimarathon

The Engadin Skimarathon is the largest cross-country skiing event in Switzerland and the second largest in the world. Since 1969, thousands of participants have run the marathon route from Maloja to S-chanf on the second Sunday in March. The Engadin Half Marathon, the Engadin Women's Race and the Engadin Night Race are also on the programme for the marathon week.

Engadin Skimarathon

On the second Sunday morning of March in Maloja in the Upper Engadin, the starting pistol for the Engadin Skimarathon will be fired. Every year, Switzerland's largest sports event attracts around 14,000 cross-country fans from over 60 nations to the Grisons high valley. On the 42 km long marathon route, the runners move over frozen lakes, past typical Engadin villages and through a unique winter landscape to S-chanf.

Engadin Half Marathon

The participants of the Engadin Half Marathon also start at the same time as the marathon runners. The 21 km long route starts in Maloja and ends in Pontresina. The Engadin Half Marathon will be held for the 16th time next March. Marathon runners have the opportunity to finish the race early in Pontresina. They are then counted together with the participants of the Half Marathon.

Engadin Women's Race

On March 2nd 2025 the participants will run the 17 km long route from Samedan to S-chanf for the 23rd time. With the project "Go 4 Women's Race" the women can take the track in teams of four under the skis. They show a great social commitment, because the "Mascha Rösa" teams are involved with their pink clothing for breast cancer victims and call for donations for projects on breast cancer prevention and health promotion.

Engadin Night Race

On Thursday evening, March 6th 2025, the Engadin night race will take place. At 7 pm, the starting signal will be given and the participants will embark on the 17 km long route from Sils to Pontresina. At the Engadin Night Race you can enjoy a romantic ambience. The moonlight and the headlamps show the runners the way. During the race, they will be accompanied by atmospheric music in five places.
